I had to create a DVD template so that I can draw a logo accurately on to it as it will be displayed on my finished DVD. As with the Photoshop cover, I used a 4mm bleed to ensure nothing will go out of display from the DVD. I used this bleed by creating a circle that covered a 126 x 126mm area and then created another circle inside that with a 117.5 x 117.5mm. I then created the two "data rings" inside the DVD. The larger circle at 16.7 x 16.7mm and the smaller circle at 8.7 x 8.7mm. All the circles width and height are the same to make them "perfect" circles.
To begin drawing an arm, I decided to use a template i found on the internet (https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=cartoon+arm&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=JUD0VJiHB83zasKtgIgI&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAQ&biw=1525&bih=693&dpr=0.9#imgdii=_&imgrc=13L0mod-fjXboM%253A%3BrQL8gRR4SbENSM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fimages.clipartpanda.com%252Farm-clipart-A_muscular_arm_110528-235716-793009.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fpixshark.com%252Farm-muscle-cartoon.htm%3B279%3B300). I used the pen tool mostly to sketch out a similar design, I used this as it was easy for me to create curves that are necessary to create a good arm. I had to move the handles regularly to ensure a smooth transition between each anchor point. After creating a rough draft of my arm I used the brush tool to add some definition to it, I used the 3 pt. oval brush, as the default 5 pt. round brush was too thick for definition. I used this tool as I didn't want to link the definition to the main arm sketch. 27/02/2015
