My Honey Glazed Chicken photo required minimal editing as the image was pretty sharp as it was taken with good resolution. I decided to increase the saturation on the image by 26% to increase the intensity of the colours on the chicken, this makes it look more appealing than the original image. I also did the same saturation increase (26%) to my Grilled Greek Chicken to increase the intensity of the colours in the food. I also had to edit out an item that was on the table in plain site and I couldn't cut it out. I used the patch tool to do this and covered most of it with area selected from the table cloth. I got most of the item covered however there wasn't enough cloth in one area to cover it all. Therefore I used the spot healing brush to touch up what was left. The stuffed peppers also increased in saturation by 26% for the same reason.
The image that required the most editing and I am unsure as to whether to use it in my final version of the DVD cover, is the Chicken in White Wine Sauce. The image was blurry and quite poor originally. The colours weren't really noticeable and didn't do the food justice. I have edited the photo by once again increasing the saturation for colour intensity. I also converted the layer of the cut out plate in to a smart object. I then used the "Smart Sharpen" tool to sharpen the image and allow increased visibility of ingredients.
I increased the saturation and then use the "merge down" tool to merge it with each individual photo as I didn't want the whole DVD cover to become more intense via saturation. To do this I had to put each image on a different layer. These layers were created by opening the image in Photoshop, cutting the image how i wanted on to a new layer. Then I duplicated the layer in to the DVD cover PSD file and arranged the images in to a 2 x 2 format and ensured the distance between images were the same.
I added some basic black text to the back cover04/03/2015
